This Henry Contreras custom is just screaming to be restored. Many hours of coachwork and fabricating have been spent in an effort to quell the screams. Besides the repairs to the body and frame, we have fabricated a 4 link coil over rear suspension, 4 wheel disc brakes, and custom upper & lower control arms. Designed by French aviation engineer, Gabriel Voisin, this car is a prototype built in the 1950's. The Biscooter was originally presented at the 1950 Paris Motorcycle and Bicycle Show but it was never mass produced. This car is presumed to be 1 of perhaps 2 prototypes originally built by Gabriel Voisin. A variation with notched out doors was later licensed and produced in Spain as the Biscúter.
With a complete ground up restoration, as this one, you need to remove everything and carefully bag, tag, and store. This Caddy has needed a lot of rust repair. There's something on every side - even a fin reconstruction!
This is the wind tunnel model of the concept car we want to build that will work with the SCCA Formula First racing class.
To start this project, the engine and transmission were removed for rebuild. The car will soon be undergoing extensive restoration.
